THE UNITY PROJECT
VERITAS FUND FOR EXCELLENCE (VFE) 2017 PROGRAMME

The Unity Project, an unique CSR initiative by the Veritas Fund for Excellence (VFE) in collaboration with the Shalini Ganendra Fine Art (SGFA), in conjunction with Malaysia's 60th Merdeka Anniversary in 2017. The project aimed to remind all Malaysians of the importance of our Rukunegara and to celebrate the unifying power of this national philosophy through the curation and exhibition of a collection of 5 special works sculpture by students of design from Malaysia's premier school of Architecture, Taylor's University.

The objectives of the Unity Project were to:
- Raise awareness of our Rukunegara and the importance of national unity
- Celebrate our 60th Merdeka
- Showcase the creative works of Malaysian youth

Concept
The design is devoid of reference to any race and religion.
​
God is there since god knows when, it contemplates our beliefs knowing he our creator, the God of life, existed during the early ages of the development of mankind.
He exists for an eternity, but for us Malaysians, see the great him in a variety of ways in the sense how all the hoops join and lines intersecting to a point to seemingly form an hourglass shape to showcase the endless diversity of ethnics and relationship beliefs.

God, as the center of a metaphoric universe, which is represented by invisible lines radiating from the focal point, tying down both the universe and earth. Raised above the eye level, stages the respectful dialogue between people and religion.

6 revolutions reflect the 60th progression of our countries diverse beliefs in God.
​
The use of wood is to reflect upon his generous work into making it abundant and replenishable, this wood is also to not only show the aesthetics, but too also pay homage to the derivation of trees in where it co-exists along us, providing benefits as so.
