Create grid lines for referencing

Add dimensions onto grid lines for accurate referencing

Set up ground and roof level through elevations

Select floor, duplicate floor and rename it as a new floor

Edit the new floor properties

Draw the outline of the floor based on grid lines, using lines and start-end-radius arcs

Select wall, duplicate wall and rename it as a new wall

Edit the new wall properties

Create wall of the model based on grid lines and edge of the floor

Set up doors, sliding doors and windows of each space

Create curtain wall and edit its properties as per required

Add curtain grid lines onto curtain wall

Select door and load door components

Select curtain wall single glass door

Place the single glass door onto curtain wall

Select wall in model-in-place components for rectangular timber louvres

Create timber louvres, copy and place them repeatedly on the wall

Construct railing using sketch by path

Put in furniture onto the plan

Select roof and set the offset value

Pick wall lines to construct flat roof

Create model topography lines through offset tool

Place trees and vegetations along the topography

Create new family of window, select English

Select metric window

Edit its properties as per required

Draw frames of window using reference lines

Select void extrusion and create void at center for glass

Set thickness of glass using reference lines

Edit its material properties to glass

Add/Adjust parameters and lock the reference lines

Load the family into modelling project

Create new family of door

Adjust parameters of its height and width

Create door panel with extrusion

Select void extrusion and create void at center for glass using reference lines

Edit its material properties of glass

Load hand lever from hardware in door components

Place hand lever onto the door panel

Draw door projection lines via symbolic lines

Load the family into modelling project

Load A1 title block and edit it

Select tag by category to tag windows and doors

Draw section lines horizontally and vertically along the model

Extract callouts from sections

Define and tag spaces with different numbers and colours

Put in room legend for clear reference

Name and save FBX file

Import FBX file into 3DMax

Adjust render set-up to NVIDIA

Assign renderer as NVIDIA mental ray

Enable Global Indifference (GI)

Set GI precision to medium

Change default from standard to Arch & Design in material editor

Select rough concrete as material and amend its glossiness and reflectivity

Drag to roof and test render to check texture and effect

Select bitmap under diffuse to import new material - timber

Adjust glossiness and reflectivity of timber

Photoshop timber image with clear texture as bump

Select bitmap under bump to import bump image

Change its image size and enable noise

Drag to apply material on the house

Apply UVW map by selecting box under mapping to change its size

Test render to make sure texture is on point

Select element under editable mesh and pick glass on the window

Detach the glass from timber frame

Select glass (thin geometry) as new material and apply to window

Select bitmap under diffuse to apply new material – concrete wall

Photoshop concrete wall image with clear texture as bump

Apply bump and amend its image size and enable noise
